The Sports Fest ‘Tarang 2017,’ for the students of primary section, was held at the school premises on Nov 18, 2017. Ms. Radhika Singh, HCS, Director, Rural Development & Panchayat, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event began with the hoisting of the school flag. It was followed by the lighting of the torch by the students who had excelled themselves in the national & international events. This was followed by the school prayer and the School Anthem. The principal, Sr. Nisha, administered an Oath to the students to play a fair game and uphold the name of the school at all times. The students also participated in the march past and displayed splendid coordination. The exuberance and the synchronization among the girls was indeed worth appreciating. This was followed by ‘Zumba’ by the students of Class 4. The young students were at their energetic best as they worked out on their fitness. The little ones of class UKG won everybody’s heart by dancing on the lilting beats of the Punjabi song ‘Shaukeen Kudiye’. These ‘gabrus’ & ‘mutiyars’ ,attired in their traditional dresses, were indeed a sight to behold.
The students of class 2 showed the tricks with their fans as they exercised on the music ‘I am alive’. Their twinkling eyes, nimble movements and enthusiasm won many a heart. The beauty and benefits of yoga were personified by the students of class 1 through the various asanas. These students taught how strength, happiness and good health can be attained by all. ‘Vibrant India’ highlighted the patriotic fervor that every Indian has for his nation. This feeling of love and pride was presented by the tiny-tots of LKG.
The students of Class 3 displayed their physical fitness, speed, balance and sharp reflexes through ‘Ribbon and Ball Drill’. The coordination was once again witnessed in the ‘Fusion Fiesta’, an amalgamation of dumb bells and the ethnic wear of country – the saree, as presented by the students of classes 4 E to 8 E.
The prize distribution for various track events was also carried out. A special highlight was the fun races organized for the parents. Another race that brought cheers was the race among the class IV employees. The students applauded them all as they raced towards the finish line. All the achievers who had excelled themselves at various events were also felicitated amidst a loud cheer. The Principal praised the efforts of all the students and the teachers.
