The Horticulture Division of Panjab University in collaboration with Natural Biodiversity group today organised a plantation drive in front of F-Type houses and near Student Centre in sector 14, Panjab University. More than 150 Nos. of plants of the varieties boungenvilia, Royal Palm, Meenaeracta were planted. The event was attended by Prof. Emanual Nahar, DSW & Fellow and other faculty members as well as Research Scholars and students. Prof Nahar suggested that such drives should be carried out in the hostels involving the inmates. He stressed that such drives should be accomplice with the cleanliness drives. He further appreciated the initiative of the Horticulture Division of Panjab University for carrying such drives. Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Hort.), Panjab University apprised those present that the Horticulture Division continues to organise such plantation drives particularly in Hostels he appealed to the students to participate in large numbers in such drives. Dr. Arun Bansal, Administrator, Natural Biodiversity pledged, along with about fifty members of the group, support for such causes in future.
