An eminent scientist of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Dr. Praveen Kumar Khosla has taken over as the Executive Director of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in Mohali.
Dr. Khosla is amongst country’s highly respected scientists with over 30 years of experience in DRDO. He has been instrumental in numerous defence and strategic projects centered around the development of electronics and instrumentation systems for aerospace and missile systems. As Scientist G and Associate Director at Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), he held the charge of three divisions, namely, the Rail Track Rocket Sled National Test Facility, Automation and Networking Division and Communication Division. Dr. Khosla’s illustrious career is studded with many recognitions, including the Scientist of the Year award from the then Hon. Raksha Mantri & Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley.

Distinguished Scientist and Director TBRL said that Dr. Khosla’s presence in C-DAC would usher a new era of collaborative research between country’s two leading research and development organisations.
With Dr. Khosla’s expertise, C-DAC’s technology roadmap evolved by Dr Hemant Darbari, Director General, C-DAC in the defence and strategic sector would receive an additional impetus. While addressing the staff of C-DAC Mohali Dr. Khosla shared his vision of engaging and exploring the avant-garde visionary areas like Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Smart Solutions & IoT etc. Dr. Khosla’s switch from DRDO to C-DAC can be summarised as a transition from supersonics to supercomputing.
