The India Skills Competition Regional- 2018 was held at Indra Gandhi Pratishthan (IGP), Lucknow during 31st May to 2nd June. The Chandigarh state got positions in 9 trades out of which 5 positions were bagged by Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC), CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. The winners of the Regional level skill competition received awards from the Honourable Chief Minister, Sh. Yogi Adityanath Ji who presided over the function as a chief guest. The students of ISTC got 1st Position in Manufacturing Team Challenge, 1st Position in Mobile Robotics, 2nd Position in Polymechanics and Automation, 2nd Position in CNC Turning and 3rd Position in CNC Milling.
Already 7 students from ISTC have qualified to compete in India Skills Nationals – 2018 to be held on 15th July 2018 at New Delhi. It is worth mentioning that the winners of India Skills Nationals – 2018 shall represent India in World Skills Competition – 2019 at Russia.
Furthermore 2 students of ISTC have also qualified from the zonal levels for the trade Mechatronics for participating in regional level competition during 21st to 23rd June at Bangalore. Mr. Narinder Singh Jassal Principal-ISTC expressed his happiness about the performance of the students. Prof. R.K. Sinha, Director CSIO congratulated the students for exhibiting exemplary skills in the competition. It is worth mentioning that ISTC is well known brand for providing skill based education in India since 1963.
