Chandigarh 24 February (Pooja Goyal)
Over 140 children from 4 years to 14 years, lined up today at Hotel JW Marriott for the initial grooming and personality development workshop for the Junior’s Fashion Week (JFW) to be held tomorrow.
JFW which started with the national tour of major cities in 2016, chose Chandigarh for the first time in its itinerary due to overwhelming response from the kids, said Vin Sharma, CEO of the JFW.
Jessica Gomes Surana, who is an academician having been the Principal of Lawrence Public School in Kolkata and is associated with the brand in conducting grooming workshop for the participating kids, said that what makes Junior’s Fashion Week is not about modeling alone but grooming juniors, instilling self-confidence to overcome stage fright and camera consciousness.
Today was the day when Jessica and the team of JFW spent time with the juniors, conducting grooming classes, having lunch with them, and interacting with their parents before they blaze the ramp tomorrow for the international apparel brands.
The Flying Machine, Marks & Spencer, The Children’s Place and US Polo Assn. Kids, are the brands showcasing Spring Summer 2018 collection, tomorrow, Vin Sharma added.
The Children’s Place new collection showcases casuals and stylish dressy outfits, with girls outfits blooming with tropical botanicals and extra girl details in lace and embroidery.
Girls’ wear sees romantic bohemian influences with seasonal trend details such as ruffles, smocking, floral prints in a palette of cornflower and pale jade shades, together with palest Melba and bright pink highlights.
US Polo Assn. Kids is inspired by Indigo hues, Hawaiian beaches and Old Glory offering perfect fit from sporty polo t-shirts and shorts for their playtime to suave shirts and trousers.
Little guys and girls from Chandigarh would be unveiling the sprint summer collection tomorrow at JW Marriott.
After holding its first show in the city, JFW would be moving to Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi and Bangalore.
