Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy organized three day festival of Music and Dance based on Guru Shishya Paramapara .Concluding day of this festival was studded with the performance of Chandigarh’s eminent Kathak exponent Dr. Samira Koser and her disciples. Programme was held at Tagore theatre.
After traditional beginning , programme was commenced with invocatory piece Durga Stuti with bols “ Jai Jai Durga Jag Janani “ by the disciples of Dr. Samira Koser. After this beautiful piece disciples of Samira presented composition based on Rag Malhar followed by traditional syllables of Jaipur Gharana tode, tukde ,aamad paran gat nikas etc.
After the beautiful presentations by the disciples guru took the centre stage. She opened up the programme with a spiritual performance Ganesh Stuti, Pratham Sumiran Sri Ganesh followed by Traditional Kathak Dance. Gat, Nikas Thaat, aamad, uthaan, paran, chakradar paran, upaj , pramilu so on were presented with captivating and graceful movements and fine footwork. Kaya Swaroopa was her next rendering , displaying her command over abhinaya aspect of Kathak.” captivate the audience with her inimitable style of presenting bhavas in nritya. From this dance drama, Sameera tried to portray different aspects of human life through her dance which was greatly appreciated by the audience.
The team of her amazing disciples studded with Shubhra Koser, Sargam, Anushka , Pranjal , Sonika and Gursimran.
The accomplished artists Guru Brij Mohan Gangani on Padant, Mehmood Khan on Tabla and Ramesh Parihar on vocals embellished the recital.
She. Kamal Arora, Chairman, CSNA welcomed the Chief Guest Mrs. Shobha Koser and facilitated Guru Dr. Samira Koser by presenting a shawl to her and honored the artists as well as accompanist on the occasions.
