Punjab Lalit Kala AKademi is pleased to announce the names of the award winners for the Annual Art Exhibition 2018. The two person jury consisting of internationally acclaimed artists Mithu Sen and Sonia Khurana from Delhi, recommended the following names for awards for Annual Art Exhibition 2018, being organized by Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi.

 

Total 420 artworks were received for this exhibition. 231 artworks were received for Professional category out of which 43 works are selected for exhibition including three awards of Rs. 50,000/- each. 189 artworks were received for Student category out of which 43 works are selected for exhibition including five awards of Rs. 25,000/- each.

 

Artists were requested to submit entries in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, graphics/print making, photography, drawing, mixed-media, installation, video installations and other related discipline.

 

Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi organizes its Annual Art Exhibition every year to encourage talented artists by giving awards and also by showcasing the art created in this region.

Along with these selected artworks, Akademi would invite senior and established artists to send their artworks so that the Annual Art Exhibition becomes truly representative of the art created in the region in recent years.

The exhibition of these art works is going to be organized in the last week of April  2018 at the galleries of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, Sector 16B, Chandigarh.

 

Depending upon the availability of a gallery with sufficient space to showcase all the artworks, this exhibition will also be shown in some other cities of Punjab.

 

The jury selected the following three artworks for Awards of Rs.50,000/- each in Professional category: Amarbir Singh from Mohali, for the sculpture titled “Birth of an Artist 5 and 6 ; Jaspreet Singh from Akkanwali, Mansa for the painting titled “Life of My Village”, and Manjot Kaur from Kharar for the drawing titled “Growing Smaller” .

 

The Jury recommended the following Five artwork for Awards of Rs. 25,000/- each in Student Category: Gurpreet Singh from Khanna, for the drawing titled “Mere Supniyan vich mera ghar”; Neha Gupta from Baltana, Zirakpur for the painting “Isolation” ; Gurjeet Singh from Algon Kothi, Tarantaran, for the sculpture titled “Lady with pink lips” ;  Gurpreet Singh from Badhni Kalan, Moga for the sculpture titled “Blood Diamond”  and Gurneet Kaur  from Kharar for the painting            titled “Games of Life” .
