The Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi presented a Bharatnatyam dance spectacle “Pravah” by acclaimed Ms. Revathi Srinivasraghvan from Mumbai.
Presented in collaboration with India International Rural Cultural Centre New Delhi the programme commenced with a thematic composition ,RudraNatyam , describing the person of Lord Shiva.
Next came ‘Harihara Natyam’ composed by Guru Satish Krishnamurthy before ‘Laya Laasyam’ reversing Lord Shiva as Jagat Pitah and Godden Parvati as divine mother.
In another dance ‘Shakti Laya’ divine mother Goddess assumed the Rudra roopni form.
A soothing pallavi ‘Swara Laya Nilayam’ was was captivating as also the Laya Parikarma woven with shiva stotaram.
The performance concluded with traditional Bharatnatyam thillana which was followed by jugal bandi. The music and rhythmic patterns were composed by guru Satish Krishnamurthy.
CSNA Chairman welcomed the Chief Guest Suchitra Mitra, acclaimed Bharatnatyam Guru who honoured the artists.
